The cottage is also within walking distance across the river to the village pub and shop. Well placed for visiting Dorset s Jurassic Coast with the impressive Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. The award-winning sandy beaches of Bournemouth Sandbanks and Weymouth are within easy driving distance. Many attractions are available such as Monkey World Longleat and various National Trust properties. The bright and comfortable accommodation all on one level offers: TWO bedrooms. 1 king-size double and 1 twin room with 2 6 beds (can be made in to a double on request). Shower room: with WC. Games room: with table football. Outdoor table tennis boules and croquet. 4 mountain bikes are also available on loan to ride the nearby trail way. Fishing available by arrangement on owner s stretch of the River Stour where guests can also launch kayaks/canoes from the island also a haven for birds and otters. Amenities: ample parking. Inland on your holiday in Dorset you can enjoy the rolling hills that are so characteristic of the county and explore what has become known as “Thomas Hardy Country”.
The county town of Dorchester, with its High Street lined with 17th and 18th Century houses, is little changed from Hardy’s day, while the pretty town of Shaftesbury has been used as a location in countless films set in Olde England.
